Baseball Recap: Mount Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mount Pleasant couldn't beat Newark on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Green Knights fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 7-6. The Green Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mount Pleasant saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Mascucchini, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Marc Grimes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Mount Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Newark, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

As of now, neither Mount Pleasant nor the Yellowjackets have any future games scheduled.
