Softball Recap: Interlake Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sammamish on Wednesday, Interlake came back down to earth. The Saints came up short against the Cedarcrest Red Wolves on Friday, falling 25-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Monday.

Albany Aponte (2027) made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Jacky Jimenez (2027), who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Interlake's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Cedarcrest, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Interlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedarcrest, they will challenge White River at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 12.7 runs per game this season.
