Softball Recap: Norwalk's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Norwalk waltzed into their match on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Danbury Hatters. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hatters, too.

Maddie Collins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Zoey Wilds was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Restaino, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Norwalk's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Danbury, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Norwalk will take on Notre Dame Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games the Lancers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Danbury, they will head out to take on Darien at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
