Godby takes loss despite strong efforts from Mekhi Butler and Devin Anderson

Recap: Godby Cougars vs. Florida State University High School Seminoles
The Godby Cougars lost against the Florida State University High School Seminoles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Godby suffered a rough 75-49 loss at the hands of Florida State University High School. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Godby in their matchups with Florida State University High School: they've now lost six in a row.
Devin Anderson and Mekhi Butler certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Anderson scored ten points, while Butler scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. James Harvey was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Godby's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Florida State University High School, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Godby is on the road again on Friday and play against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Lincoln will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Florida State University High School, they will square off against Arts at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Arts has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 407 points over their last six matches.
