Volleyball Recap: Wharton Comes Up Short

Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 35th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Needville Bluejays. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-3, 25-3.

Among those leading the charge was Avery Polak, who had ten digs and five aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven contests.

Wharton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Needville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 35-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wharton is set to challenge their familiar foe Sweeny at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Needville will take on rival La Marque at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
