Softball Recap: Art & Design Takes a Loss

Art & Design dropped their record down to 4-5 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 18-12 to Math Science & Engineering. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Math Science & Engineering this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 back in April.

As for Math Science & Engineering, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Math Science & Engineering, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Math Science & Engineering's part, they got a massive performance out of Rebecca Rha, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Rha a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Art & Design will host Laguardia at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Laguardia has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something Art & Design will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Math Science & Engineering, they will take on Martin Luther King Jr Educational Campus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
