Baseball Recap: Scott County Central Takes a Loss

Scott County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-8 to the Zalma Bulldogs. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 18-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Trevor Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Cameron Bean also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Scott County Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Zalma, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scott County Central will welcome Charleston at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bluejays have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Zalma, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
