Volleyball Recap: St. John Paul II Academy Wins Going Away Against Basilica

St. John Paul II Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Basilica Mariners 3-0.

St. John Paul II Academy not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Basilica between 16 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

Lyla Tomko had an outrageously good game as she had 12 digs, eight kills, and two aces. She has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sabrina Britton, who had 17 digs.

The victory got St. John Paul II Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Basilica, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Looking ahead, St. John Paul II Academy will challenge Saint Andrew's at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Basilica, they will square off against Key West at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
