Basketball Recap: Braylee Young's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boone Central over North Bend Central

If Boone Central was riding high fresh off their 55-33 takedown of Madison last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Boone Central Cardinals took a 62-48 bruising from the North Bend Central Tigers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Tigers are ranked 24th).

Boone Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braylee Young, who went 6-for-9 en route to 14 points and six boards. Myah Rankin was another key player, going 5-for-6 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Boone Central dropped their record down to 11-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Bend Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Boone Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Bend Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-42 win against West Point-Beemer on the 20th.
