Soccer Game Preview: Irvine vs. Woodbridge

Irvine is 0-9-1 against Woodbridge since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Irvine Vaqueros will be playing at home against the Woodbridge Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

Irvine headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Portola let them put that streak behind them. Irvine skirted past Portola 4-3. That's two games straight that the Vaqueros have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodbridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Sage Hill 2-1. Even though the Warriors got in a bit of trouble with the refs ( Anthony Hernandez was handed a red card), the team managed to overcome the adversity.

Daniel Kang and Jiho Shin scored both of Woodbridge's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Woodbridge's win bumped their record up to 4-10-6. As for Irvine, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6-2.
