Baseball Recap: Cordova Finds Playoff Glory Versus Cherokee County

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cordova had no problem doing just that on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cherokee County Warriors with a sharp 8-1 win.

Jordan Gant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Cordova got a big performance out of Chesley Harbison, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Harbison has posted since back in March. Daniel Jackson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Cordova has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. As for Cherokee County, their loss dropped their record down to 21-14-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cordova beat the Warriors by a score of 8-1 later that day.
