Volleyball Recap: Calabasas Comes Up Short

Calabasas lost against Westlake back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Coyotes fell 3-1 to the Warriors.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-14.

Ramina Homayoun paced Calabasas' offense, picking up ten kills. Homayoun got some help from Grace Yang and her 18 assists. Homayoun was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Calabasas has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Westlake, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Calabasas and Westlake could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Coyotes will face off against Agoura at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (682 vs. 153). Meanwhile, Westlake (ranked 195th) will meet Oaks Christian (ranked 11th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
