If Chaparral was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Arizona College Prep on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firebirds fell 3-1 to the Horizon Huskies on Wednesday. The Firebirds' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

While Chaparral had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Horizon found their leader in freshman Tessa Caldwell, who had 19 digs and two assists. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Caldwell.

Chaparral's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 28-5. As for Horizon, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10.

Looking ahead, Chaparral will host Notre Dame Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Horizon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Desert Mountain on the 23rd.
