Dynamic duo of Talyssa Hilaire and Natalia DeJesus-Bruno lead Odyssey Charter School to victory

Recap: Odyssey Charter School Titans vs. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pine, the Odyssey Charter School Titans were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Pineapple Cove Classical Academy by a score of 41-30. That's another feather in the cap for Odyssey Charter School, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Odyssey Charter School was led to victory by Talyssa Hilaire and Natalia DeJesus-Bruno. Hilaire scored nine points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while DeJesus-Bruno scored 17 points along with seven steals. That's the first time this season that DeJesus-Bruno scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Melissa Mayfield, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Odyssey Charter School's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odyssey Charter School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pine at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Pine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Odyssey Charter School in Florida (Pine is ranked 182nd, while Odyssey Charter School is ranked 606th). As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and St. Edward's will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
