League recap: Hoover extends winning streak with victory over Tuscaloosa County

Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A Region 5 this week, Hoover beat Tuscaloosa County 41-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Buccaneers.

The Wildcats lost to Hoover 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Minor's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jaylond Adams threw for 108 yards and Jaylond Adams had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Adams contributed 50 yards. Dominique Goodwin helped Minor's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 31 yards.

Adams was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 50 yards as the Tigers fell to Hillcrest. Jaelin Sheppard also contributed to the rushing game with 10 yards on the ground.

Minor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Drequan Pritchett has thrown for 1,191 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Mike Chisem has 22 catches for 363 yards.

Josh Niblett's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on Tuscaloosa County.
