Softball Recap: Berkeley Prep Takes a Loss

Berkeley Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Buccaneers of the 6-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Mackenzie Crerand was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Berkeley Prep's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Academy of the Holy Names, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Berkeley Prep will challenge Wellington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Academy of the Holy Names, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Academy of the Holy Names Jaguars take on McKeel Academy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
