Baseball Recap: Granada Takes a Loss

Granada was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 9-3 to the Springfield Longhorns. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on Tuesday.

Sebastian Pizarro was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Maddox Coleman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Granada's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Springfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Granada will take on Manzanola at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Springfield, they will head out on the road to take on Wiley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.18 runs per game on average), something the Longhorns will no doubt try to take advantage of.
