It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Winston County can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Lions by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Winston County took Lindsay Lane Christian Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 26-28, 15-10.

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madelyn Menefee, who had eight digs and two aces. Menefee is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Emily Galloway, who had four aces and three digs.

Winston County's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Lindsay Lane Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 42-14.

Winston County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lindsay Lane Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Pleasant Valley on the 24th.
