Football Game Preview: Windthorst Trojans vs. Munday Moguls

Windthorst and Munday are an even 3-3 against one another since August of 2015, but not for long. The Trojans will head out to take on the Moguls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Munday took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Windthorst, who comes in off a win.

Windthorst is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-7 victory over Seymour. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.

Brock Belcher was his usual excellent self, throwing for 428 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 78.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 62 yards on only six carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes. Another player making a difference was Hunter Anderle, who gained 138 total yards and four touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Windthorst's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Munday came up short against Archer City on Friday and fell 44-37. The Moguls were up 37-20 in the third quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

The win made it two in a row for Windthorst and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points over those games. As for Munday, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Windthorst against Munday in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
