Softball Game Preview: Franklin Broncos vs. Surry County Cougars

Franklin hasn't had much luck against Surry County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Franklin has given up an average of 14.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Franklin lost 24-4 to King's Fork on Monday.

Ja'Najh Frazier was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Deja Hayes, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Surry County's offense. They came up short against Southampton on Tuesday, falling 19-0. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Surry County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Franklin suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Surry County in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Broncos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
