Basketball Recap: Saint Francis Catholic Falls Despite Big Games from Audrey Whisler and Allie Dey

Saint Francis Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 38-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Countryside Christian Minutemen. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-26 back in January.

Allie Dey and Audrey Whisler certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Dey dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards, while Whisler went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points. That was a full 43.3% of Saint Francis Catholic's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Saint Francis Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Countryside Christian, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Saint Francis Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 39-25 loss against Redeemer Christian on the 24th. As for Countryside Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-42 victory against Cedar Key on the 24th.
