Baseball Recap: Merced Takes a Loss

Merced scored first but ultimately less than Golden Valley in their game on Monday. They lost 14-4 to the Cougars. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Merced saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Vitelli, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave Vitelli a new career-high.

Merced's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Golden Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

While Merced had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
