Baseball Recap: Racine Case Takes a Loss

Racine Case made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Indian Trail, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 4-2 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Racine Case got a good showing from Adam Contreres, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Contreres has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Racine Case saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Haughton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Racine Case's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Indian Trail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.
