Butternut took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They had just enough and edged Washburn out 3-2.
Meanwhile, Flambeau came up short against Cornell on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chiefs 25-22 in the first set.
Flambeau started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.
