Baseball Recap: Comeaux Victorious

Comeaux was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They skirted past the Abbeville Wildcats 5-3.

Nicholas Kurowski made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Kurowski was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those stolen bases marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Cohen Rentrop was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Deon Tay Darby, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Comeaux always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville only posted an OBP of .379.

Comeaux's record now sits at 2-8. As for Abbeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Comeaux will square off against Opelousas at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Abbeville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Abbeville Wildcats challenge Delcambre Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. They are strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
