Basketball Recap: Wiregrass Takes a Loss

After flying high against Tuscaloosa Home Educators last Tuesday, Wiregrass came back down to earth. The Wiregrass Kings took a blow against the Evangel Christian Academy Lions on Friday, falling 80-38. While losing is never fun, the Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while the Lions are ranked 85th).

Wiregrass has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 17 of their last 20 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Evangel Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-4.

Wiregrass wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 80-38 defeat against Evangel Christian on the 31st. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Hooper Academy at 7:00 p.m. Hooper Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Evangel Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
