Basketball Game Preview: William Byrd Terriers vs. Cave Spring Knights

William Byrd hasn't had much luck against Cave Spring recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The William Byrd Terriers will welcome the Cave Spring Knights at 7:00 p.m. Cave Spring took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on William Byrd, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, William Byrd turned things around against Franklin County on Tuesday. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 38-23.

Meanwhile, Cave Spring lost to Blacksburg on the road by a 61-43 margin on Tuesday.

Cave Spring dropped their record down to 5-15 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for William Byrd, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15.

William Byrd didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cave Spring in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 32-27 win.
