Softball Game Preview: Maret Frogs vs. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart Gators

Maret is 6-1 against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Frogs will welcome the Gators at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Maret's win against Sidwell Friends wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Frogs skirted past the Quakers 13-12. The Frogs haven't had any issues with the Quakers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sophia Trendl was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-4. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Sterling, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple.

Trendl wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Maret lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart hadn't done well against Georgetown Day recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Gators blew past the Mighty Hoppers 16-1.

The win got Maret back to even at 3-3. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
