Basketball Game Preview: Live Oak Lions vs. Gridley Bulldogs

Live Oak hasn't had much luck against Gridley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Live Oak Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gridley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.

Live Oak is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Las Plumas, falling 62-34. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gridley got the win against Corning on Friday by a conclusive 66-40. With the Bulldogs ahead 40-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Gridley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Live Oak, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Live Oak took a serious blow against Gridley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 67-29. Thankfully for Live Oak, Aaron Kullar (who went 10 for 14 en route to 23 points along with five boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
