Softball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Melrose-Mindoro's Winning Streak

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last four games, Melrose-Mindoro finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pepin/Alma by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Melrose-Mindoro saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Zeman, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

The defeat snapped Melrose-Mindoro's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-2 record. As for Pepin/Alma, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

Coincidentally, Melrose-Mindoro and Pepin/Alma will both be playing Augusta the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Pepin/Alma will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
