Preview: Lakewood Leopards vs. South Lenoir Blue Devils
The Lakewood Leopards will finish 2023 at home by hosting the South Lenoir Blue Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lakewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
Lakewood scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They walked away with a 65-56 win over Lejeune. With that win, Lakewood brought their scoring average up to 52.8 points per game.
It was another big night for Cameron Williams, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lakewood's points. Kristofer Robinson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, South Lenoir ended up a good deal behind Southwest Onslow last Friday and lost 71-52. South Lenoir has not had much luck with Southwest Onslow recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Lakewood's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for South Lenoir, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
