Wiley needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Lexie Lubbers. The Wiley Panthers strolled past the La Veta Redhawks with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 44-27 which was due in part to Lubbers, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted five or more steals the last three times she's played.

Despite the loss, La Veta had strong showings from Aspen Autry, who went 6-for-14 en route to 15 points, and Jaiden Goemmer, who posted four points and eight boards.

Wiley's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for La Veta, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Wiley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Veta, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-21 defeat against Stratton on the 7th.
