Basketball Recap: Westminster Academy Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Westminster Academy came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 85-47 win over the Victory Christian Academy Storm. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2018.

Leading Westminster Academy to victory were Alex Constanza and Alexander Lloyd. Constanza dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards, while Lloyd went 11 of 16 on his way to 26 points and six rebounds. Constanza has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 14 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dwight Gaines Jr., who posted eight points and eight assists.

Westminster Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.3 points per game. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4.

Westminster Academy will host Sagemont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Bell Creek Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Victory Christian Academy is facing Bell Creek Academy at the right time seeing as Bell Creek Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
