Volleyball Recap: Madison Academy Takes a Loss

Madison Academy was the 2-0 winner over Huntsville when they last played one another back in September of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Madison Academy came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-22, 16-14.

Leading Huntsville to victory were Jenna McCauley and Lacey Hollis. McCauley had 16 digs, while Hollis had 13 digs and three assists. Those 16 digs gave McCauley a new career-high.

Madison Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-13. As for Huntsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 34-8 record this season.

Madison Academy has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Austin on the 11th. As for Huntsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Muscle Shoals on the 11th.
