Avonworth and Ellwood City are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Antelopes will be playing at home against the Wolverine at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Avonworth will be strutting in after a win while Ellwood City will be coming in after a defeat.

On Tuesday, Avonworth got the win against Hopewell by a conclusive 11-5. The result was nothing new for the Antelopes, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Ellwood City unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mohawk Area.

Amber McQuistion put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lena Lucarelli made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Avonworth's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Ellwood City, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-4.
