Soccer Game Preview: Jacksonville vs. Beardstown

The Jacksonville Crimsons will head out to take on the Beardstown Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Jacksonville is headed into the match having not lost since September 2 and will look to keep things rolling. They and Sacred Heart-Griffin finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw on Tuesday. The outcome might've been different if Troy DeFrates hadn't been hit with a yellow card, which no doubt limited his ability to make aggressive plays down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Beardstown hasn't lost a match since September 11th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for Beardstown, who have now won ten contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Beardstown has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those eight matches. Jacksonville's draw makes their record 10-2-3 this season.

Jacksonville skirted past Beardstown 1-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crimsons since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
