Softball Recap: Brillion Beats Reedsville for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Brillion won against New Holstein on Monday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand the Reedsville Panthers an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Grace Krueger made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jana O'Connell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Carter Miller, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The win (which was Brillion's fourth in a row) raised their record to 19-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for Reedsville, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.

Looking ahead, Brillion will welcome Kiel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Reedsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
