Baseball Recap: Grady Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brooklyn Prospect, Grady was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Sunset Park HEAT a 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 last Thursday.

The result came thanks to Nathan Wan-Brodsky's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grady is 4-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Marcello Faciano was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Gabriel Gomez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run.

Grady's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Sunset Park, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Grady is taking a road trip to square off against McKee Vo-Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunset Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
