Softball Game Preview: Person Rockets vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles

Person is 1-9 against Eastern Alamance since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. Person will look to defend their home field against Eastern Alamance at 6:00 p.m.

Person fell victim to Western Alamance and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 7-0. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Eastern Alamance waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 6-1.

Delani Straughan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kinley Henderson and Kayden Manning did most of the damage at the plate: Henderson went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Manning scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Henderson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Edie Stewart, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Eastern Alamance hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matches.

Eastern Alamance pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Person, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
