Basketball Recap: KHLOE STEWART's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Forest Park over Indian Creek

Forest Park has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Indian Creek Eagles. The contest marked the Foresters' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Foresters players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was KHLOE STEWART, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 22 boards. STEWART is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was INDIA WATKINS, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points.

Even though they lost, Forest Park smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Forest Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Indian Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Park will head out to challenge Coppin Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Indian Creek, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kent Island at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
