Reading Memorial is 9-1 against Belmont since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rockets will face off against the Marauders at 6:30 p.m. Reading Memorial will be strutting in after a win while Belmont will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Reading Memorial turned things around against Lexington on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 48-12 victory over the Minutemen. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-12.

Brady Lamontagne had a dynamite game, rushing for 131 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 67 receiving yards and one score. His longest rush was for an impressive 56 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Ryan Pulpi, who gained 123 total yards and two touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Reading Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 231 rushing yards. They are 2-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Belmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Woburn Memorial 50-0. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 229th, while the Tanners are ranked 72nd).

Reading Memorial's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Belmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Reading Memorial against Belmont when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 60-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
