Basketball Game Preview: Northgate Broncos vs. Miramonte Matadors

Northgate and Miramonte are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Northgate Broncos will head out on the road to face off against the Miramonte Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northgate is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season.

Northgate will bounce into Friday's game after beating Campolindo, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Northgate managed a 52-46 win over Campolindo on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

It was another big night for David Harris, who went 8 of 13 en route to 23 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Boustead, who posted four points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Miramonte suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2024 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 77-46 loss at the hands of Ygnacio Valley. While losing is never fun, the Matadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Wolves are ranked 118th).

Northgate's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points per game. As for Miramonte, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Northgate strolled past Miramonte in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 77-61. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Miramonte's Marcus Robinson, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 27 points and five boards.
