Volleyball Recap: Glynn Academy Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

There's no place like home for Glynn Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the St. Vincent's Saints on Tuesday. For the Terrors, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Glynn Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Their offense was headlined by Natalie Koncul and Jocelyn Jackson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Laura Beth Baldridge and her 18 assists. Jackson also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kara Burandt, racking up three apiece.

Glynn Academy pushed their record up to 2-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for St. Vincent's, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Glynn Academy will be taking part in a tournament against Greenbrier at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Vincent's, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against South Effingham on the 14th.
