Volleyball Recap: Cair Paravel Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cair Paravel can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rossville Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cair Paravel sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 27-25, 19-25, 25-20.

Karsyn Hastert paced Cair Paravel's offense, picking up 19 kills. Hastert got some help from Clare Everhart and her 36 assists. Finally, Hastert was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Cair Paravel's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Rossville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-13-1 record this season.

Cair Paravel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rossville, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Maur Hill Prep-Mount Academy on the 25th.
