With a playoff win on the line, Queen Creek rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the Desert Vista Thunder. The Bulldogs are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 17 straight.

Aubrey Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma Reynolds was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Charli Dixon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Queen Creek pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 25-7.

Looking ahead, Queen Creek will challenge Xavier College Prep on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 3.6, the Gators 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Desert Vista has already played their next match (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
