Football Recap: Modoc Takes a Loss

Modoc lost against Quincy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Braves fell 22-15 to the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by exactly seven points.

When it comes to explaining why Modoc lost, don't look at Sutton Cockrell. Despite the final result, he picked up 100 receiving yards and one TD. Ethan Northrup got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Modoc's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Quincy, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Modoc and Quincy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Braves will square off against Lakeview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (951 vs. 85). Meanwhile, Quincy (ranked 944th) will meet Pershing County (ranked 43rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
