Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Spotswood

Spotswood won the last time they faced North Brunswick and things went their way on Friday too. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the North Brunswick Raiders. With that win, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jack Korneski looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Carter Cumiskey was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. John Lubin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Spotswood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Spotswood's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Brunswick, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Spotswood will take on Williamstown in a tournament on Saturday. As for North Brunswick, they will challenge Steinert at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
