Softball Recap: Mansfield Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cedarville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mansfield). They blew past the Cedarville Pirates 16-1 on Tuesday. The Tigers have beaten the Pirates the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pirates has come to flipping the script.

Kamryn Infalt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Infalt was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miley Clopton, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Clopton is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Trinity Triska was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Mansfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mansfield now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Cedarville, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mansfield will head out to square off against Mountainburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cedarville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Booneville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
