Baseball Recap: King Comes Up Short

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flour Bluff Hornets. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

King saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grant Hoogland, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

King's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15-1. As for Flour Bluff, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10-2.

Coming up, King will face off against Tuloso-Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuloso-Midway's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so King's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Flour Bluff, they will challenge Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
