Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cornerstone Charter can now relate to. They fell just short of the Eastern Randolph Wildcats by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brayden Barbee made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Shaffrey, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cornerstone Charter's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Eastern Randolph, the win got them back to even at 12-12-1.

Cornerstone Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eastern Randolph, they will face off against South Stanly on Friday. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
